OPenWRT Remote Access Forbidden 403
« on: June 02, 2017, 07:48:59 PM »
New model router with OpenWRT, everything works fine, DNS is good, Public IP is good, Ping ok but remote access fails with a Forbidden 403 which indicates the router is visible but for some reason will not allow access to the login page. All HTTP access is enabled, ports are good. Doesn't appear to be a specific operating system, 7 Pro and Win 8.1 gives the same result. Drawing a complete blank on this, any thoughts

No just http://dyndns_address or straight public IP, SSH is enabled (Allowed) as is HTTPS & HTTP

Have absolutely no problems with the previous FW (non OpenWRT as such) versions before this but this is the first model with OpenWRT, can replace the unit with a previous version, same SIM, same everything and all is good but for some reason being blocked from the login page with this new one.

Only other thing I can think of is white/blacklist issues

I tried 4 different computers (Win7 & Win8) on 2 separate wireless broadband networks (don't have ADSL/Cable etc) with the same result, was thinking some sort of firewall or security/virus program etc. Have another totally unrelated laptop which does exactly the same thing, connected via one of the broadband networks so to me that eliminated my own setups.

However this unrelated laptop can also further connect into a corporate network via VPN (Pulse) which then actually can see the remote router and login page. So connected to the internet alone, no good but further connected to a corporate network via VPN, all good. Any hints in this? Got to be missing something simple with this?

Probably already tested this
For some routers there are settings such as "allow acces from the wan (internet)"
That has to be set from within the LAN first.

Also another one still refuses to use http , only https will do.

And a well used one over here, only allows WAN acces from a certain IP range.
