Meteobridge to Ambient Weather Network
« on: April 26, 2017, 06:50:34 PM »
When I select Ambient Weather Network it pre populates a MAC address (router's) and doesn't let me edit it, how do I change it to the correct address?

Also how do I remove a weather network?

Thanks,
Rohan

To "remove" a network, just change its upload interval to "no upload".  Not sure if there is a way to remove it as I think it is server-side.

The "MAC Address" shown is, or at least should be, the "MAC Address" of your Meteobridge itself.
You can not modify that address as it is your device-ID for the Ambient Weather Network.

I for some reason thought it has to be the MAC Address of the Observer IP. I registered the MAC address of the Meteobridge on the Ambient Weather website and now data is flowing. Thank you :)

I tried to upload, and I don't get any traffic... or green checkmark.

Edit, it popped on after I changed to 10 retries.

I am getting a message the ambient weather link "expired" 3 days ago.  Cannot seem to get it to reconnect.

Maybe this is the problem / cause  if you did not buy the meteobridge from ambient: https://www.ambientweather.com/amvwanet.html#caption

I'm wondering if this is something new as I do not recall ever seeing this when looking at their Wiki for the bridge or buying the 2 year rights to use virtual weather station....

I think it is something new. It used to work for me until Feb 22. I have a legit bought AW weather station, but I've had the MB on a TP-LINK device for years (so it was not bought from AW). Seems like a new monitoring strategy from Ambient.

this is a pitfall of relying on cloud services...they can change, etc

Agreed,

I don't think I'll be doing any more business with them.

Same message for me.  $150 seems kind of pricey.  it was a nice interface on my android phone, but i don't think it is worth $150.

Well this is a bummer.  I just bought a WS-0262A to monitor my greenhouse, and it's working great, so I was going to go on to the Ambient group on Facebook and say what a nice option this is for that, but now I just figured out that I can't also add my two year old WS-2080A to my new ambientweather.net account without ponying up $150 more.  Ridiculous.  And I was even going to recommend Ambient to a friend who needs a new station because his old one died.
