Observer IP is the weather station console
which sends data to wunderground via your router (ie the wifi connection)

Ok. It concerns the people sending their data to WU and not the others receiving it. So, if I use a VantagePro2 and VWS, there is nothing I can do. Right?

I didn't know ObserverIP was another thing to send data to WU. I thought he was talking about a setting on my station or on VWS.

I shut my station down for WU and will turn away from their Mesonet.

I just got this message back from Kari at Weather Underground.
Quote
It's simply that the software is pulling data from a server that no longer exists and they won't update it to pull data from our API.

Now I am not a technical genius when it comes to server farms, etc....  But isn't this solved with a simple redirection or DNS server at their end?  If they dump a server do they expect everybody to just follow them rather than making a smooth transition.  Maybe there is something here I don't understand....

I've replaced the 5 day non updating forecast with a nice 7 day from Weatherforyou.  I've also replaced the non updating Weather alerts using a simple feedwind RSS widget to get the Local Santa Cruz Mountain alerts from NOAA ATOM.

I miss the Mesonet map, so may PWS in my area.  I might break down and use a link to Wunderground for the WunderMap...

Getting there slowly....

Some WU data is trickling thru again..  I'm seeing mesonet data and warnings From Jan 18th 2017..  Seems they might be fixing things...  lets hope.
