Title: SYSTEM GREENS OFFLINE as of March 1st?
Post by: schwab on March 01, 2017, 08:07:20 PM
My Rochester, Minnesota, USA GREEN Blitzortung Station 671 has been contributing to strike locations all winter long with excellent efficiency metrics.

As of March 1st even though my station is functioning normally and detecting signals and communicating with the network via the latest Serial Tracker software it appears it is no longer contributing to locating strikes.

Hopefully the Blitzortung Team will troubleshoot this issue as it appars all USA GREEN STATIONS have a similar problem.

This is why my "green" boards are now sitting in a box and the housings and antennas were reused for the Blue. Can't say they didn't warn us...

I purchased a BLUE system (Station 1699)....that has failed after a month or so.

So I then resurrected my GREEN system (Station 671) while Dale Reid (Blue Station 1505) tries to troubleshoot my fried BLUE system electronics.

I believe the GREEN systems may get back online depending on the Blitzortung Team's assessment of this issue.

I remembered that some of the earliest stations were in Florida and that there should be some "green" ones.

It seems that 654   Palm Beach Gardens is still online and counting stikes.

I hope that Dale can find your problem. I had to replace my 1st Blue due to a CPU failure. It might have been precipitated by the Vreg issue or possibly soldering heat from my re-touching the solder on the one side of the processor.

Title: The Problem Is Solved

The problem was solved after I received this reply from those at Blitzortung

"Sorry, there was a problem with the time on the server and for some reasons it affected only GREEN stations."

To paraphrase Mark Twain, The reports of green's death are greatly exaggerated.”

Glad to see that it is working again.
