Puget Sound Squalls
« on: September 02, 2015, 11:32:07 PM »
Today we had some lively squalls roll through with a fair amount of lightning an thunder...  After it was done, I did two time lapses.  One is each cam fading into the next cam.  This video I think shows detail:

Then I put together a 3 cam time lapse that I think "Tells the story" .....

.

Wow... I just did a preview.... This is different...  I think I like it!

Thought I'd Share,

Greg

I am amazed at how the various elements swirl in from different directions! It seems like the main source comes in through the Strait, but clouds are also blowing up from SeaTac through the Sound, and even some back wash off the Cascades. Definitely a nice mixing pot. Hopefully, this will help with the fires as it moves eastward.

BTW, how's the "count down" going?  ;)

We have had a lot of wild weather up here.  Right now KOMO (ABC) is using one of my time lapses to show wind shear.  Kenmore Air (a large float plane service that flies from Seattle into the San Juans and further up into BC) uses my cams on a regular basis.  I have had conversations with them and they say this can be a VERY nasty area to fly through.  They have invited me over for lunch someday just to share stories and talk about possibilities for the future... I'm looking forward to it.  Of course I think my site would be a perfect place for them to advertise...  ;)

Here is the link to the KOMO blog and my wind shear time lapse.  http://www.komonews.com/weather/blogs/scott/Time-lapse-video-shows-dramatic-wind-shear-over-North-Sound-324786531.html

Yahtah...  Currently 75 workdays left...  On Tuesday after 8:00am I will be able to give you that in 74 +fractions....  :)
