I heard back from Ambient customer service and they believe I had some good ideas, so forwarded it to the developer and asked me to be in touch with him to also possibly test. They admit they were surprised and had to get something out quick (it looks two tries), and they believe it covers about 95% plus of all problem cases, but realize improvement is needed. Let's see what the developer has to say.

For some strange reason mine started working fine just before I did the update. Ed said that the sweet spot for placement is 10 feet. I moved it to about that and was getting just a few drops so I angled it so that it was facing the IP observer and for some reason it started working fine. It lasted a couple days and now I can't connect to server at all, BUT I have all blue lights -server.
