Am I the only one experiencing Mesonet issues since Jan 19th? Data from multiple stations won't update...

It appears that all the feeds from Wunderground are not functioning in VWS.  Yet the uploads are working fine.  They are getting our data.  The 5 day forecast, weather advisories and mesonet are all not working.  This may be a permanent shut down... (not substantiated) but I think we should all email Wunderground about this issue.  There are too many VWS users out there for them to drop up like a hot potato...

I will, but last time I did I got unsatisfying answers and I was told that if the API was working there is nothing they could do. It is as if they didn't know or really support VWS.

The Mesonets plus the 5-day Forecast and Weather Warnings are not working either.  I submitted a help ticket with WU but haven't gotten a response from them.  I contacted Ed at Ambient and he rather nonchalantly replied that "it appears they have turned this feature off".  This happened a few years ago and it straightened itself out after a week or so.  Let's hope it's fixed soon!

I did too. Keep us updated. Depending on their answer, we could threaten them to unplug our station from their system...

I just reported this as well.   I asked them if I should stop sending data.

Yes, agreed!

But I need to begin planning to move away from VWS.  The lack of full support has become unacceptable to me.

If you're depending on Wunderground for your data, enjoy the ride is all I can say. Yep I wish Ambient would upgrade VWS, but just look at the time the template developers spend keeping their templates updated between NOAA and the Wunderweenies bunch. As long as folks are focusing on WU ... sheesh... I can't understand why someone would dump a good program, among other things, to fiddle with sending/receiving data to/from a leeching commercial website. Why not just link to http://mesowest.utah.edu/ from where WU leeches a majority of its data directly anyway, or install or link to the available Mesonet template 'family' such as http://www.northamericanweather.net/ ?  (I think I can guess the responses to this already .. )

Working this morning (at least on one site that wasn't working...) Mine has not stopped working but I know other sites that did. Another reason I use VWS AND WD.

You know, we provide a valuable service to WU for free no less but if I want to see my data I have to put up with adds or pay for a no add service! The least they could do is keep the data flowing to our web sights to support our hobby. Weather exchange is down, 5 day forecast is down, weather warnings are down, my IR map links and local radar map links have not updated since the 25th of Jan, historical data is down. WU, if you are making a change to our feeds, at least give a heads up. I paid for VWS Internet edition to enjoy my hobby and I feel VWS is responsible to support and update it's software as needed or ambient should stop selling it. VWS, If you are not going to support it anymore just say so!

Jester, I couldn't agree more! I've noticed I have the exact same issues your having! If things don't get corrected hopefully soon, I'll go back to Weather Display. If the problem is due to ambient not supporting vws through updates, then I'll definitely write a poor review on ambients vws software worning others before they purchase.

Why don't you write a warning review about Wunderground?  I give KUDOs to ambient.. time for other developers to deprecate Wunderground... They're the one with the consistent issues, lousy customer service, and erratic and erroneous data scraping...
And, don't worry... if you're sending CWOP/Mesonet, WU will scrape it anyway, display you on their map sometimes, all you'll lose is a fab gold star and 'your own weather page'.. whoop whoop...
You can view and download your Meso data at such links as http://tinyurl.com/jaufrjv
View your station on the meso map e.g. http://tinyurl.com/h7j4toj
..and have "your own" weather page at NOAA / NWS eg http://tinyurl.com/z8wbxuk
... and obtain your own API if you desire:  https://synopticlabs.org/api/

...so, why Wunderground????

Cutty Sark Sailor, this is the kind of information that I needed. Absolutely, if my web site remains in its current status (broken links, etc) then I'll see if I get anywhere with WU. Understand, I just happen to notice the issues as of last Thursday with my web site and just not knowing what happened.

DITTO

I can only add one more point:
- developer's nightmare due to absolute inconsistency in the way they provide data, variable naming, units etc.

Just joining this discussion...   I'm having the same problem of my meso data is gone.  http://www.spatters.com/weather/

I see references in other posts in this thread about gathering data directly from other sites rather than from WU via VWS, but I'm clueless on how to do all that. Anyone have docs or tips on what a body is to do in order to populate the missing data on his site now that WU and VWS don't want to play nice any more?   ](*,)

What other apps are there besides VWS that can be used to generate a weather site? I've been using VWS for over 10 years with the same general look and feel. I have wondered many times if there's a newer, fresher game in town. VWS has grown quite stale IMHO.

I agree with spatters, about had enough, been using VWS for 12 years. Just spent way to long changing the radar and satellite map. if there is something else out there, sure would like to know what its it.
