when i load my api.php from my server all i get when it loads "no password provided"
You need to make sure in WD the update password is entered in the meteotemplate settings with the URL to the api.php file.
Set the update rate, and you're done.

ive done this, and the meteotemplateLive.txt is being updated, not sure why the block isn't reading or displaying the information

OK, fixed. It is sort of what I expected - half your fault, half mine :D

In PHP, "API" is not equal to "api". It is also my fault because I usually always assume users do this and before using the input do trim(strtolower(...)). In this case I forgot.

Part of the problem is also the fact you have chosen a font where it is very difficult to tell what is capitalized and what is not, so you need to be careful about this.

Works fine now :-)

Thank you very much, sir

It is funny when you check the user map... there are almost like "Meteotemplate hotspots" :D

Just using U.S. as an example... there is still quite a few states where there are no users at all. In contrast, I just added the seventh (!) user from Phoenix, Arizona :D

Meteotemplate - New Plugin – Pollen Calendar
« Reply #6378 on: March 28, 2017, 06:44:53 AM »
New Plugin – Pollen Calendar

Hi guys,

I created a pollen calendar for the U.K. and I decided to merge it with the already existing Czech pollen calendar.

The Czech pollen calendar plugin is therefore discontinued and replaced by this general “Pollen calendar” plugin, which currently includes the original Czech one and one for the U.K.

Also make sure you update your menu.php, delete your Czech pollen calendar link and include the new one.

Enjoy

Wanted to try Meteotemplate. Got key and downloaded V12. Took long time to set it up okay but had 15 updates in one week then new version 13. Next day 8 more updates and now 6 more since.
Cannot keep up. Sorry. Too many. Must look for something else.

The update takes usually a few seconds,  but most importantly,  you don't really need to do it,  unless it is some major bug fix you can of course keep on using what you already have,  blocks and plugins can be updated for example from version 2 to 5 directly,

These are the easiest updates to my site I've ever done... Usually it takes me a day to a day and a half to get the updates coded. This setup, 1 hr and I'm all done

Well done Jáchym. Simplification at its finest

Hello Jachym, in the Summary block, all the tabs work with your information, except the "Forecast" tab that does not offer any information, is normal or has to be activated somewhere.

Hi Juan,
no activation should be required, data is loaded from yrNo, but some servers struggle with the parsing and connecting to yrNo, I will see if I can fix it, but I know that for some people their servers just refuse connecting to yrNo, no clue why...

Hi Jonny,
thanks, well this is one of those dilemas I have all the time. On one hand I do understand that it might be annoying to see too many updates. On the other hand, i receive several emails with suggestions every single day, or bug fix reports etc. It is then hard to decide what to do. So I try to make a compromise - do the updates as soon as possible, but try to make them as simple as possilbe. It used to be much harder in previous versions of Meteotemplate, where for example every update meant deletion of all your settings.

With the main template file you have to go from one version to the next, but this only happens usually every 2-3 months. With blocks/plugins, you can skip versions. Just dont delete your settings.php and you can replace all the other files, eg from v1 to v8 directly.

Plugin Update – Pollen Calendar 2.0

Hi guys,

in this new version I added data for the United States. I wanted to do similar thing for a long time, now I finally found the necessary data.

Given the size of the U.S., the plugin required dividing it into sections, so you have 6 regions available:
- Northwest
- Midwest
- Northeast
- Southwest
- South Central
- Southeast

DEMO: http://www.meteotemplate.com/template/plugins/pollenCalendar/

Enjoy

Are you planning on a block or is the php file too large for it?
Just curious.

Hi Jonny,
not really, there is too much data to display nicely in a block and also this is likely to get even bigger if I add more and more countries

Yeah, I was looking at it again. The problem really is in the amount of data to show and most importantly, each country is in different format and has different data (sometimes even country resolution is not enough - i.e. US :D). So it would have to be a block for each country separately, which could soon be quite  a lot of blocks...

I was thinking maybe only show those allergens that are currently important - i.e. check current month and check the data and only show what is current for today´s date. I guess that would work with regards to the space for the block, but we still have the problem with different data formats for each country

Hi guys,

so far, the recently released plugin “Pollen Calendar” supports the Czech Republic, United Kingdom and United States. I am more than happy to include your country as well (if it is not the one already available), but it is a bit problematic trying to find the data for me if it is not in English. I am sure I would be able to understand it once I have the page, but trying to find such page is difficult.

If, therefore, you would like to see your country as well, then look at the plugin and look what sort of data it expects – basically a list of trees/weeds/grasses and their activity during the year. If you then find similar information somewhere, just send me a link and I will see what I can do.

Jachym,
Just wondering if you would ever change the Links page?  I am in the process of adding my own links to it and don't want to get confused later on.  Would I have an issue adding a new heading?
Thanks,
Jay

Hi Jay,
you mean the "Links" page which is default part of the template right?

Yes I know, that page is very old and not really what I currently want it to look like. You can of course change it, but maybe I will just say "wait" :-)
