Title: Smoky Skies Today in Much of Upper Mississippi Valley per GOES-16
Post by: gwwilk on August 11, 2018, 01:21:28 PM
I was shocked to see how much smoke from Canadian and US forest fires has occluded GOES-16's view of much of the Upper Mississippi Valley (https://www.gwwilkins.org/wxGOES16-HAniSLoops.php) today, especially Minnesota and central Iowa!

Even my webcams here in Lincoln, NE currently see almost no blue sky, just grayish-white for the most part.

I am in Fargo today. You can see the smoke in the sky and it is gray. Yesterday was worse
