Boltek LD-350 with 2 Software
« on: August 27, 2013, 06:26:06 PM »
Good Morning,

I have a Boltek LD-350 detector and I purchase 2 software (Lightning 2000 and Nexstorm).

But I can run only one software at the same time.

Is someone find a way to run both software at the same time with a USB Splitter or any other Tools ?

Please let me know.

Thank you.

I am in the same situation, but with the PCI board.

So far, I've not found a way, due to I believe the way the software gets data from the sensor.  Of course I could be wrong.

It would be nice if the sensor had a hardware register that was filled with the current strike data, and as many softwares as wanted to run would be able to read the data.  As it is now, it appears, again I could be wrong, that the software running talks to the hardware with requests which would necessitate that only one software package can be in charge.

Please let us know if there is a way and you find it.

Nexstorm does have a shared memory  semaphore gate system
maybe Lightning 2000 could add support to use that?

Without any evidence at all, I would have to guess that Lightning processing software is interrupt-driven.

Nexstorm does have a shared memory  semaphore gate system
maybe Lightning 2000 could add support to use that?

If I am correct, then that sort of cooperation would be the only practical way to use multiple programs.

And I'm rather doubtful that it will happen.

Sure.  That's WD.  WD does not compete with Nexstorm.

I'm personally doubtful that Aninoquisi would add a feature to Lightning 2000 that would depend on having Nexstorm.

I would be pleased to be wrong, of course.
