Anyone know is what this port is for a n the bottom of the display?

Interesting, never knew that was there. I looked at the bottom of my display and mine has a cover.  Looks like a usb port, maybe for flashing the firmware. Nothing in the documentation about it.

Wonder if it would be a way to pull data from the unit and possibly reload? From what I understand, the unit won't hold history once it's unplugged?

I just checked the two I have and I don't have that mini usb port....................

To me that looks like a small port just like my android phone has?

Ooops, I looked again, I do have these Ports after I remove the Base Stand , there they were..............

Interesting. I may reach out to Acurite an see what they say. I don't have the instructions in front of me, but I don't recall them referencing that port.

The USB port for that specific display is to update the firmware in the display. It is typically for quality purposes. If we were to have you send it in for a warranty claim, and something needed to be updated with the display this is how we would do it.

So it's for updating the firmware at the factory.

Looks that way.  Why companies do this is beyond me.  Acurite let consumers do the Smarthub update - and we all know how that went - so maybe this why.  Then again, I update the fw on all my Dlink cameras myself.  No bricks  (yet)!

Yeah I do the FW UD on my Canon 60D, 6D cameras and BIOS on All my Computers over the years, but not a simple Display? Really?
