I email WU support and they got back with me saying to send a screen shot of scannercast. Waiting for a response. Otherwise I have it working here   http://audiostream.wunderground.com/hayskstornado/Hays.mp3.m3u . My question is how can I put this inside of a page?

Thanks

Edcast doesn't like my Win 7 home WX PC. I've tried it since I had the problem and it crashed it again.

I know it works great on XP, but that probably doesn't help you much.

I wonder if anyone with Win 7 has successfully done this.

I use edcast just fine with Windows 7 and use a transfer rate of 32Kbps, rather than 16Kbps, so the audio will sound better.

Also the 2nd home page using modified AltDashboard 6.95 at http://stillwaterweather.com/2ndhome.php

Re Midland 300 streaming: Yes, WIN 7 ok. I use a tower, not a laptop, however, but have run it on laptop experimentally with no particular problems. Here's some experience and assumptions I've picked up over the last 4 years:

Quality: #1 secret is good static-free reception. #1a is the change the mono output to 2 channels.... getcha self appropriate Y-cable adapters (eg: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=y-splitter+cable ) and split the mono to stereo channels.
This seems to work better than setting edcast to mono.

Now you can leave edcast at MP3/16kbs/22050hz/Stereo.

Edcast Source should be 'line in' not mic/stereo mix or 'speaker. (even though you may have plugged into something labeled 'mic/line'). Make sure you turn off any other Edcast encoders other than the one.

My volume out of M300 is about 30%, edcast Master Volume about 75%, watch peak meter, going to 0dB

Check Laptop power settings make sure stuff isn't set to power down, or standby, or go low power, battery save, whatever.

Edcast probably is not what's crashing pc. It may be memory, cpu heat, some other process... . Try setting it to run as administrator????
You can also try this:
If you're using Win7, stick a flash drive in a usb port, ( I happened to have 2GB handy) and set it for "Rapid Boost"... (unloads the hard drive a bit, etc, speeds some processes up.)
Cheers
Mike

Make a link without using the WU flash player?

Looking on your site, you can add something on the left sidebar, like you did for "Gas Prices", for example.

Just made this page...

William at WU emailed me back and said they are having technical issues with the radio page and will get back with me when it's fixed.

I know this is an old topic but seems to maybe fall into what I am having. I have streamed to WU before and stopped for a while. The person who was hosting the feed apparently quit so I am putting mine back up now. I am using Win 7 Pro 64-bit and have Edcast and everything set up correctly. It connects to WU, it shows it is active and it shows up in the directory. But no sound is coming from the WU feed when you select it and the radio is on and it shows in Edcast is getting a signal. I have sent WU a message but wonder if this is a problem with Edcast running on Win 7 Pro 64-bit or something else. I have run it fine in the past on XP and Vista.

Anyone else experienced this problem before?

-Thanks!

Got fed up with Wunderweenies...  ](*,) feeding my own self, so to speak. Yeah, I've got wunderground feeds for some other locations, but only because I can't find direct feeds for them. Some of 'em might even work.

So, here's the player that pops up when the appropriate ('NOAA RADIO') link on my weather page is clicked:
http://ourspecial.net/twinhollies/weathercenter/wxradio/wxradio.htm
The first position (default) on the player feeds right from here at home, and goeth not   to Wunderground.

Very cool Mike. How are you hosting it and what software are you using?  I am very interested.  I once had a stream with Wunderweenies, but always had issues with them.

Hi Mike,

Looking real hard at this. What format are you using for the stream? MP3.....?

Thanks,

Yeah, the Wimpy's calling an mp3 from Broadwave. Broadwave as some functions under "connections" that offer sourcing, etc. I don't use it, but I think it will also determine automatically how to feed a request.. It's been awhile since I set these up, and while it's great to be able to set 'em and forget 'em, it's really bad when someone comes along couple of years later and asks what I've done!!!  My old grey cells take that 'set and forget' literally. Of course dedicated/reserved port forwarding and a DNS service or 'real' static IP (not sticky) are important...

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the info. My Uverse seems to have a static IP as it has been the same since they set it up last July, so hopefully that won't change now (probably will since I mentioned it). Looks like Broadwave can be used for free if you link back to them. I"ll see if I can port forward from my UVerse connection. This should be fun.

Hi Folks,

Have NOAA Weather Radio setup and running here.

You can also listen here, also.

The first link uses your player within your browser, the second link is a flash player.

Enjoy.

Hi Ryan,

Overall it was pretty simple to setup. My biggest challenge was finding the right info. for my ATT Gateway Router/Modem so it could connect to Broadwave. I know I have to get a mono "Y" splitter to stereo input so its in stereo, but I'll do that later.

Is that why yours plays out of 1 speaker? I don't have a Y splitter and mine plays out of both speakers on this end. What about on your side?

The pitiful thing about this, FireFox will not natively play an MP3... (it uses whatever is available on the local machine... if any)

Otherwise you could do the HTML5 audio tag, and the mp3 will play fine without any other contraptions... in IE and others... Firefox wants an ".ogg"
Matter of fact, try using that tag and opening the page with IE... it'll zip right along.

Now, there's bound to be a 'server' that will also offer "ogg"... but I've not found it,. nor explored server conversion or something..
WHOA folks, I'm talking as simple as possible here, not the icecast/shoutcast/extra third party stuff...

I've been trying to dope out your radio feed thingy, and you've probably got it set to MONO... you'll not need it... we could probably get around the Y, but it's so darned easy, and don't have to remember a bunch of other settings... and where's what and who's who if we add other streams, etc.
