I have a Vantage Pro 2 station I purchased in 2007. I know the cable from the anemometer to the station has black/red/green/yellow conductors. In my case however I had to splice an extension in the cable because of the 200' distance separation. This installation has worked for eleven years. However I had some yard work done lately and they may have damaged my underground cable and/or splice. The wind speed still works but the direction readout is froze on west. I am an electrician so I understand how to trouble shoot with a volt/ohm meter. Question....... Does anyone know the ohm readings a functional anemometer /direction unit produce? Does the direction wires vary in resistance depending on direction? How do the readings change with speed? Anyone know what "normal" readings look like? Thanks for any technical advice guys/gals.
