Oregon STC800 Solar Panel Batteries
« on: October 27, 2017, 11:13:37 AM »
Good afternoon everyone.

I know this was addressed in July 2011, but it's still relevant today. Oregon Scientific are still shipping the STC800 solar panel either within some models of weather station or as an accessory that can be added to WMR stations with a battery in the solar panel disconnected.

If you have purchased a panel or have a Oregon weather station that includes one then you need to follow the following simple steps:

  • The back of the solar panel has a total of 12 screws.
  • Remove the inner 6 screws to access the battery compartment.
  • Connect the battery fly lead to the white connector.
  • Ensure that the water proof rubber seal is correctly in place and reassemble the rear cover.
  • Do not over tighten the screws.

Oregons Hong Kong production centre are aware of the problem, so hopefully we will see further panels and station shipped with an addendum.
