Hi, Rain block is not quite right, when you click More, you see

Today   2.8 mm
95.5% avg (2.93333333333mm)

Block: Right, 4th down (Moisture), Menu; Rain (ignore the other 2 in the menu, was testing them and neither work, still show black text on dark background, previous issue, but hey, Ive always wanted a Deviations block, thanks ;) )
Kind regards

Hi, History block is showing all the way up to or back to 47 years ago, my data stops at 2007

http://www.brecklandweather.com/template/

Block: Middle, bottom

Your database has probably a record with the date 1970-01-01 (epoch date ) this was 47 years ago see also here http://www.brecklandweather.com/template/pages/station/climate.php?var=T

Works fine - 2.8 mm = 95% of 2.93mm

New Block – Climate – U.K.

Hi guys,

this block shows long-term data for temperature (min/max), precipitation and sunshine hours for a selected station from the MetOffice weather station network.

DEMO: http://www.meteotemplate.com/template/indexBlockDemoWide.php?block=climateUK

Enjoy

Hi, on this page and then current conditions, where is the data coming from for the METAR please? The METARS over here always shows to the nearest decimal, its always 16.0C 17.0C 20.0C never 16.7C

Hi,
it is using interpolated results of nearby METARs based on your lat/lon so it is a weighted average, thats why you can see decimals.

That's a good idea how many metars , or should I say, how many miles away from the station, too far could be wrong, I use 3 of the closest stations, on CWOP, I think the furthest is just over 12 miles, but that one (Marham) I the official met office station...

Crikey, I beleive most of those are private stations including my own  E9093, D7935, is Neal in Brandon with a vantage Vue, and not to mention a good few are 20, 30 miles away, in your list, that I know of are 4 airports, the 1st two I cannot find, so they could be smaller ones, but the majority there are private  CWOP stations, took me a moment to figure it out, there is a letter missing from each of the CWOP stations, not so sure it's a credible reading, for one thing, the reading in the block is far too close of a match to my own, hence I was asking, if it was just the metars, EGUL, EGUN, EGYM, the latter being 12 miles out, that would suffice, from a start, the latter is the official station. Going bed now, will have a look in the motto see if I can twiddle with it

Bashy, if you find a source which offers forecasts that are:
- free
- in machine readable format available online
- accurate for a user living in any part of the world

please let me know, I am interested :-)

This is really funny, just spent 3 hours today chatting to our new colleague here in the Czech NWS.... the funny thing is that he is from Illinois and only came here year ago and doesnt even speak Czech :D The world is small.... One of the MT users lives 10 miles from where he lived until last year :D

Trying to word this reply right so as not to offend is difficult,
so please, try to take it as its meant to be, constructive criticism

We are talking about the current conditions part, not forecasts  :?

Please see images, these are the the top 10 (up to 23.5miles away) that are closest to me, luckily 4 are metars,
the the other 6 are PWS Why are the PWS included in the METAR current conditions, thats what im on about,
i cannot check all stations as to who they are but, i am fairly certain some are probably netamos. Then
there are the other 6 stations that dont make the list cause they are even further away, some that are
over 30 miles away, E3743 @ 38.3 miles

And there's my own station, that is in that list too, so the current condition will be partly my own that i
will be comparing against.

The current conditions part is not really fit for purpose, not when i am comparing against myself, and comparing
against other PWS that are miles away, not to mention what their data is actually like, i really like it cause
i thought i was comparing against a METAR(s) I even made a block on its own just for the station vs metar part

With the above in mind, regards to the current condition comparison alone, can this not be made to use METARS only?
I mean, it does say Airport vs Station
Kind regards
Bashy

The script uses Darksky API. Darksky API uses the stations I listed above. If you want a very accurate forecast then probably the best I know is AccuWeather. They also have an excellent API and I know that the data is very accurate. The only minor problem I need to warn you about is that you will be paying 410 dollars/3 months.

I'm not on bout the forecast, I'm on about the current  conditions comparison between METAR and my station, not forecast

Sorry I used a wrong word, I was talking about current conditions. The Darksky API output provides forecast as well as current conditions, which also includes the list of stations being used.

But, all those stations shouldn't be used a site comparison for my station, more so when my own station is in the list, how does that make sense?

Using all the stations as far out as nearly 40 miles away from me also makes no sense to me there are only 4 stations that I would use as a comparison to my station
That reaches to Marham, about 13 miles away, even that's stretching things but as it's an official met office station I use it.

Surely you see what I am saying?  You cannot compare with stations 20, 30 miles away  and certainly not with your own station,

For a forecast, it makes perfect sense, but not for the current conditions
Kind regards

The API uses your exact co-ordinates, how exactly they average out the current conditions is not in the documentation.

Jachym,

I just updated the CO2 plugin and I get a blank page on the Mauna Loa page.  Nothing shows.  I have downloaded it twice.  The file looks good but nothing there.  Everything else seems to work fine.

I am up to date with blocks and plugins and all work fine, except climateUK block which shows empty.  I have re-downloaded and reinstalled 3 times.  Then checking Cache and there is a data.txt file with the following:
