Nice set up!

Should get some good wind readings.

Is that a webcam on the roof?

Great website too.

I crop/resize/add arrows and circles/touch up with Paint Shop Pro and then put them in a folder on my server. Here on the forum, I use the button to create the BB code to insert the image link in the post.

Yes it on the roof. Bought this house 2 years ago and the had an old dish satellite bracket on the roof and I modified it to mount the cam.

Maybe it's just me but running that bare wire from your cam on your roof without some kind of protection could lead to problems down the road. A shingle roof gets extremely  hot in the summer and I can see degradation of the line from the heat.
If it was me I would run 1/2 pvc from the cam down to under the eaves of the house where it's protected then run the bare wire to it's destination.
Also leaving the wire loose on the roof as opposed to being tight may cause some problems.
I do like the satellite base. That is very sturdy.
Just my 2 cents.

Put the Vue on the roof

I'm a bit curious as to why?   It appeared that the pole your View was on was fairly well exposed.  :?

The new install looks nice but it's a bit close to the surface of the roof, IMHO.

I agree. Your original location seemed pretty good.
Also with the temp sensor located that close to the roof your data will be skewed.

My data is correct. My shingles are light in color and do not get as hot as darker ones. It was 97 degrees when I put it on the roof and data was not a problem. The main reason for putting it up there us the south wind was blocked by the house. It's very windy here and wind speed is a big deal to me.

No problem, I see you've researched the issue and are OK with the temps.  You may be disappointed with the wind results though.
With the Vue only a foot or two at most above the roof line, you're likely to see your speed/direction altered due to turbulence.  If you
can
, try to raise it to at least 4-5 feet above the roof, preferably 10ft.  The higher you go, the further away you will be from any
effects the roof will have on wind speed/direction.   Again with that said, if you are happy with the results as
they are, then that's all that really matters.  ;)

It's almost 3 feet off the roof. I will be fine. Thanks for the insight.
