Wunderground forecast day boundary for rainfall
« on: May 12, 2015, 11:04:16 PM »
I'm staring at a Wunderground rainfall forecast for my ZIP code, which in the last couple of hours has gone up from about .55 to 0.87 inch.  Yet it is 9:00 p.m. and only .09" has fallen so far.  A visual inspection of the hourly rainfall probability forecast, coupled with a quite low forecast (0.04") for tomorrow's rain total, makes me suspect that for daily rainfall total forecast, Wunderground must be ending "today" at long after midnight local time.

Does anyone know their actual policy?

Perhaps they're just predicting a lot of rain in the next 3 hours?

Maybe the storm isn't moving as fast as they predicted?

Maybe the forecast is just wrong?
