Topic: Paint rain bucket & anemometer ?

After a bit of research went with the OSI.  Until I do the inevitable Davis upgrade are there any problems painting the outdoor components a dark grey or black.  I assume the temp probe should remain white but not sure if the others would be impacted.

PS, what happens to the rain gauge during winter?  Does it just freeze up without a heater of some sort?  Would black help it to work better?
