WebcamXP and time lapse
« on: March 24, 2009, 11:26:53 PM »
Hello ladies and gents,

I am not a weather type person but in reading about some of the fun y'all are having, I might get interested! I am using webcamXP and it looks like a fair amount of you might be too. I'm looking for some advice. Here is the situation.

I have an outdoor cam installed that is feeding into WebcamXP. I have a remote website that I have webcamXP set to FTP to every hour. That way I can see the current picture. But it would be real nice to be able to create a 24 hour time lapse of what the cam is seeing. I am bandwidth limited since it connects to the remote site via Hughesnet satellite so any sort of streaming is out of the question.

The problem seems to be that when webcamXP uploads the new image, it names it cam_1.jpg and overwrites the previous hour's picture. Any ideas on how I could create a time lapse for the last 24 hours given my situation?

Thanks much and keep having fun.

Robert
