Vantage Vue Indoor Temperature and Humidity Broken
« on: March 22, 2018, 11:41:48 AM »
Hello.

I thought this might be related to this but I have a Vantage Vue rather than VP2:
 https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=34034.0

My Console is showing dashes ( - - - -) where the indoor temperature and humidity should be.

Everything else works fine.

This seems to have happened after I upgraded the firmware to 4.18 (although it turned out this firmware was already installed). Can I downgrade to the firmware from 2013?

I've reset the power. I'm using a datalogger so have reseated that.

I've not reset the instruments although I can't see why that should make a difference.

I am going to see if WeatherLink or WeatherDisplay pick up the indoor readings when I am back later.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

How did you confirm your previous firmware was 4.18 after you upgraded?

What is the Mfg Code of your console?

When upgrading, it said the firmware was already 4.18 but I hit the wrong button and it 'upgraded'.

MFG code is MQ171103077

Model 6250UK

I am located in South West UK.

There shouldn't be any issue then with 4.18 on that unit.

Indeed.

I also now appear to be getting a message saying the console batteries are low but there aren't any in there.

Fair enough.

I've gone back to Firmware version 3.00 and that has solved my problem.

However, I now have no barometric pressure....presumably because the older firmware doesn't support the newer sensor.

Any clues?

I have been in contact with Davis support and this issue is now solved.

It turns out that I actually downgraded my firmware.

The latest version is (as of April 2018) 4.30 which for some daft reason is not available on their website.

If anyone else experiences this problem, email Davis and they will send you the newer firmware.
