Hi, thanks for posting this.  I've been looking to get away from my ambient ws-1400, but haven't found an affordable way to do so.  With your two items, I believe I would just need to buy the Davis sensor suite, then I would be up an running on the internet (Weather Underground, etc).  Any other software/hardware items that I would need that you know of?
