Linux streaming software
« on: November 05, 2017, 09:54:17 PM »
I'm looking for a linux alternative to my BlueIris setup.  Currently running BI on a Win10 machine that I'd like to retire.  BI does exactly what I want - provides streams of my 8 weather cams, and provides snapshots every minute with a text overlay from my Weatherdisplay setup.   I'm pretty sure I could get the snapshots using a cron job and imagemagick (currently doing that for timelapse production), but haven't been able to find a linux replacement that I could use to view all my cams in realtime.

Anyone out there doing something like this in linux?

I should add, Zoneminder was my first option.  So far, have not had any luck getting it working.

https://alternativeto.net/software/zoneminder/?platform=linux#  I would watch node.js software carefully.  It kills Win 7 systems.
