Weather Station for Condo Dweller
« on: November 23, 2016, 12:40:17 PM »
Hi, I reside in a townhouse with homeowner association restrictions regarding antennas etc. So as far as a weather station is concerned I may have to limit myself to something that cannot measure wind speed and rain due to the extra hardware necessary and the restrictions stated. I am new to this and have recently started enjoying monitoring wx through various online apps and a growing collection of weather alert radios. I see something like this AcuRite 02027A1 Color Weather Station
https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-02027A1-Forecast-Temperature-Humidity/dp/B00GLDQFPY/ref=sr_1_4?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1479922676&sr=8-4&keywords=weather+station&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011
Am I on the right track?
Thanks for your input,
Steven

We have seen a few people in your situation. If the townhomes are attached, maybe you can talk to the association board and put it in a common area. Park, parking lot, fence, green area. Then get the info online and share it with the development. Make it a community talking point. I think the acurite has about a 300ft range.

Except IME the 300 ft range is a wild marketing thing not based in reality.
