Solar Eclipse - Mar 8/9
« on: March 07, 2016, 08:21:17 PM »
As some of you maybe know already, there will be a total solar eclipse soon.

What I didn't know however is that it will actually be quite a unique one in terms of the actual time when it occurs...

Thanks Joe. I got lucky while living down in Bangkok to get some pics of a total solar eclipse, Oct. 1995.

I took them twice actually lol. I didn't own a digital camera back then and they are on film paper. I just shot those pictures again with my digital to get them online here. It was kind of neat to watch nature and the Thai locals during the totality. The nature part was expected with birds getting quiet/sleeping and the quick temperature drop. The Thai locals were more of a surprise, running inside their houses slamming windows and doors shut then banging pots and pans inside (to scare off spirits I was told later). :-)
