Topic: serial to usb converter

I followed the many suggestions on the board and went with the serial data logger to avoid the usb problems. I was unable to find a serial board for my vista machine however i had read that I could use a third pary serial to USB converter. I ordered one and it will arrive this week. Any thing special I should know about hooking up with the converter? I appreciate any suggestions.

Windows may assign the USb-Serial adapter different COM port #s depending on which USB port you use. So if you decide to change ports, you'll have to locate the new port in the Control Panel or with WeatherLink, and then change the setting in your software.
