Remnants from what was at one time hurricane Gustav brought much needed rainfall to portions of central and northern Illinois yesterday. I ended up with 2.88 inches. It had been so dry prior to that and due to the steady prolonged duration of the rainfall everything soaked in with not even a puddle in sight.
