Why do mobile homes seem to be tornado magnets?
No, I am not trying to be funny stupid.
There was a tornado last night near Willmar, MN. A moblile home dealership was "destroyed" (news word)
Many years ago: There was a tornado near where I grew up. It was moving north and seemed to make a direct line toward the ONLY mobile home in a 10 mile diameter.
It just seems that it is more common.
My thoughts:
1. Mobile homes are easy to knock over. If high winds come close to a park, there can be damage.
2. Mobile home parks are found more in the southern state than in the north. Even though the midwest is known for tornados, the south gets a lot too. Especially during the spring and fall. (another topic would be the Southern tornado alley)
