the data logger, which would connect to the console holds 42 hrs at 1 min archive.  8 days at 5 min,   17 days at 10min,  26 days at 15 min,  53 days at 30 min, 106 days at 60 min,   213 days  at 120 min

Sorry I mislead you before. The data logger stores 213 days  at 120 min worth of data. The console's memory, however, holds up to 20 or more years I think... Don't quote me on that.

All the console memory is about a few high's, lows, rates, times etc with relation to today, this month and this year etc If so I wouldn't call this 20 years of "data"

Need more info on this 20 year memory thing?

Anyone know?

It's the 'rule of 25'  - days/months/years (speaking specifically about the console as dstinct from the logger - which stores 2560 records).

Console storage details are in the Serial Tech Ref manual - see EEPROM graph locations.

But as Flag says the available data is pretty scant once you get back beyond 25 days. And back past 25 months all you get are yearly min/max values.

Sorry, but I don't usually have time to help with individual issues by email unless you are a Prodata customer. Please post your issue in the relevant forum section here & I will comment there if I have anything useful to add.

Hello,

Data is stored in the console for specific spans. It will record the last 24 hours, last 24 days, last 24 months and last 24 years. There is no need to clear anything with this format.

The data in the data logger is circular. This data is separate from the console data. The console data is only used for the graph on the display. The datalogger data is the historical data that is downloaded. This does not need to be cleared as it will simply overwrite old data (since it's circular memory). However, you do need to download before old data is overwritten. How frequently you need to download depends upon the archive interval you choose. The table below shows the relationship between archive interval and when data needs to be download.

    Archive Interval                           Days of storage
    1   Minute Archive Interval . . . . . . . .42  hours
    5   Minute Archive Interval . . . . . . . .8   days
    10  Minute Archive Interval. . . . . . . . 17  days
    15  Minute Archive Interval. . . . . . . . 26  days
    30  Minute Archive Interval. . . . . . . . 53  days
    60  Minute Archive Interval. . . . . . . . 106 days
    120 Minute Archive Interval. . . . . . . . 213 days

By the way, Larry Smith is no longer with Davis Instruments. He passed away suddenly about half a year ago now.

... The console data is only used for the graph on the display.

OK, now I think we can understand the confusion.  Larry wasn't exactly clear in saying that what is stored in the console for the last 24 days, last 24 months and last 24 years is the "summary" data, such as the highs, lows, etc.

Thanks for posting that.
