Title: Storm last night
Post by: cospringswx on July 29, 2016, 10:58:19 AM
Tennis ball hail came through my neighborhood last night at 10:30. My windows on my house are busted. My anemometer on the Vue is gone. The Hikvision is crooked but still works.  Peoples cars windows are blown out. Thankfully mine was in garage.

Did you get any radar grabs before the storm hit? Tennis hail like that would probably be 65 or 70 dbz. Maybe even a little more! Glad you weren't hurt at least. Definitely sucks about the windows and the anemometer.  :-(

Got one radar grab from Radar Scope but that's about it. Power went out for 30 min. Ordered a new anemometer for the Vue. Unreal the Hikvision cam is still working. Crooked but working. Not getting on roof to fix it until insurance adjuster comes. Will need new roof. Roof is 2 years old. Next door neighbors garage door has windows at the top and the hail smashed through there and made a hole in back windshield of car in garage!! Amazing.

Wow that is serious damage. I'm sorry to hear that man. That is a rough deal. Hopefully you don't see anything like that for awhile! I figured you would have gotten storm damage like that in Kansas rather than Colorado!

Wow. I consider Colorado the severe storms capital of the West. Thankfully there wasn't an EF4 attached to it.

A catastrophic team from Denver is coming help with claims. Severe watch issued until 10. Round 2? Trump is here in town to make matters worse. Will be 2-3 weeks before someone comes out. Have a claim filed already. I need new roof, windows, paint , etc... What a hot mess!

I did get on roof to straighten cam out. No wind being recorded today.

Just tell Trump to use all that hot air to stabilize the atmosphere, or better yet, bring Hillary in to scare it away. :-"

Was able to get a L2 screen grab from KPUX from yesterday's storm. The white dot is Colorado Springs. [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Used a .05 Allen wrench and got the new anomometer on the Vue. An adjuster is coming over Monday to calculate the damage to the house. Here is a couple pics.
