Topic: Resetting 5-in-1 rain gauge after installation?

So after unboxing and installation my rain gauge says .50". It hasn't rained I think it has to do with the internal mechanism moving around. How do I reset this is to zero?

Also...is the calibration thing with the cup of water important? Or can I skip that step?

It depends on your display model.  Some have a special clear button that resets recent data.  Others you have to do a full reset.

You can skip the rain calibration.  It usually isn’t necessary.

There is a reset button on the back. i found a page on the manufacturer's website that told me how to do it. It also disconnects the wi-fi connection, so I had connect my network to the device, type in that IP address and reconnect it. After a couple of minutes it was connected fine and my rain is reset back to 0. We are expecting rain in the Dallas area tomorrow so I was hoping to get it done today. Thanks!
