UKMO station better in low wind
« on: November 08, 2017, 12:31:15 AM »
Hey folks

I have the daytime fars converted to use 12v ac so on 24/7

I compare my station on CWOP every morning and i notice that when its calm or little wind
my local official met office station's temp is pretty much always lower then me, a Vue and
2 other RAF Metars, when there is more than a gentle breeze we are all much closer.

I am think they will be using the non aspirated shield due to less maintenance.

My question is, why is it better in low to no wind?

Images; EGYM is the UKMO station, im blue obviously :) 1st image is little wind avg 2.5kts
2nd is avg 7kts

only referring to daytime temps at the minute.....
