Hi Jeff. I wonder if you go into the WXtoImg/maps directory and delete the latest .map files would work or not? Perhaps these files hold your setup variables and are read on startup?

I was not exactly sure where to find the .map files
Can you tell me the path to find them on the hard drive ?
Thanks .I would have thought by untinstalling and reinstalling it
Would have fixed it.obviously it did not completely uninstall.
It even shows me as regestered user when I try to boot it
Up .some how it knows from the old one I uninstalled.

My installation of the program put the WxtoImg directory at C:\Documents and Settings\"your user account"\My Documents\WXtoImg by default.
also I see you mentioned that "stop" wasn't grayed out. Does the recording stop if you choose that so you can get back in to correct the min/max values?

found them, deleted them, same result.

if i click stop, it goes right back to record,
it is caught in a loop
all i can do is click the x
and close the program.

this is a bad one.
thanks for taking your time to help me
i appreciate it .

Maybe try putting your sound card in use with something else then bring up WxtoImg while the sound card is busy. WXtoImg should detect this and fail to start recording. Then possibly you can get back in to fix the Min/Max values.?.?

O.K. I've located the CFG file that has your setup parameters listed. It's located in your "Documents and Settings\"your user account"\ApplicationData\WXtoImg" folder called "WXTOIMG". Open it (double click) and scroll down to the area that looks like this:
Record Type: A
Record Name Format: %m%d%H%M
BMPs for DA: false
Record Bits: 16
Record Level: 25
Record Delay: 60
Record Rate: 11025
Record Only Active: enabled
Record Elevation: 20
Record Above: 3
Record Disable Info: false
Record Add: -N
Record Device: 1
Record Modes: ARD
Recording Forces Location: false
Antenna Type: QFH
Receiver Type: none
Receiver Port: none
Receiver Baud: 0

and edit the "Record Elevation" and "Record Above" sections. I imagine that's where the problem is. Save it and restart. Hope that does it.

i am guessing you have xp, i am using win7.
win7 does not have  documents and settings
so i could not follow that path.
i even asked a friend who is very computer savy
to stop by after i was unsuccessful.
i cant seem to get to that folder to open it .
i am so frustrated.
thanks again for your patience and help.

Yes, I'm still using XP and that's not helping with this. I read on a Win7 forum that the old XP documents and settings folder is the "Users" and ProgramData" folders on Win7. Perhaps  "C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\WXtoImg\"  has the WXTOIMG file you need?  Does Win7 still have a Search function to see where WXTOIMG might be?
