Vanatage Vue Country Station
« on: July 22, 2014, 03:27:48 PM »
Was wondering if I should try adding a bit more height to the station. The closest thing is 60' away. Everything else is 90' or greater away. The station sits atop an 8' pole.

I would not go any higher with the Vue.  The rain collection will probably be off if you do.  Plus you are going to need to change batteries from time to time.

I am jealous of that location.  Real green grass and a crop in the back ground. Is that corn or some sort of redtop maize.

To the best of my knowledge, it's feed corn, the hard kind for livestock. I'm in Cross Plains TN. I've had the station up for 2 yrs, but I'm just now getting around to going online. In the process of making it happen. I'm using a serial adaptor and I'm having trouble with the drivers. Waiting on some new computer parts to hopefully resolve the issue.

Nice location and green, many don't have anything that open and representative of surrounding terrain. Being the stickler or is it nerd that I am, I'd have a 30' telepole flag pole with separate anemometer so the VP2 would be needed.

Funny thing is, I can actually see my station on google maps!! It's the white dot right in the middle of image.
