Vantage Vue question
« on: October 16, 2017, 04:49:23 PM »
I have searched all over Google trying to find a solution and haven't been able to find anything under the Davis forum, but I am thinking about getting a Vue and want to know if anyone has a bird spike recommendation for this unit. I know there is no official spike, but has anyone done anything to remedy this? I would be putting this on a mast on the roof, so any maintenance would ideally be once a year.

Also, what brand of battery would be best/long-lasting for northern California (Bay Area)?

Thanks, in advance.

Re spikes for the Vue: IME this is much less of a problem on the Vue because there's not so much of an obvious ledge or rim for birds to perch on. Not something I'd worry about at all.

I was kind of thinking that, but I obviously have no experience, so I thought I'd ask. I appreciate the response.
