I meant to also add that the Wifi was earlier updated only on the WS-2902A Display Console to v4.0.9

Still unclear how you got your WS-2000 Tablet Display's WiFi updated.

Thanks Dan. What if they aren't on the same AP?

Also, should I redact my MAC address too when posting here?

I wouldn't think same AP would matter as long as you're on the same network.  I happened to be on the same AP with my phone as the displays are though.

Probably wouldn't hurt to redact any identifying information not needed. The host name itself had the last 4 of the mac, so I only really redacted 2 characters

The WS-2000 isn't showing when going to configure a new device:

The WS-2000 is on a different AP that the WS-2902A, FWIW.

That prompts for initializing the WS-2902A's mifi by pressing and holding WIND + PRESSURE buttons, button that don't exist on the WS-2000.

Tapping through/ ignoring it, AWNET tries to find the device (that is on a different AP, as mentioned previously)

Times out after a while and reports device not found

Have you tried doing this involving different access points? Or just spit balling?

Mine did the exact same thing; found it without trying other than selecting Menu, then Device list.

But try this;
When your app is on the 'find device' page, searching for  the device, go into your WS-2000 wifi scan-setup and force the console to broadcast itself.  Maybe then the app will find it.

Oh!
Make sure your phone has wifi turned ON.  Mine is usually off because it sucks so much battery power and dings at me every time I roam in and out of wifi coverage.

Thank you everybody who replied.

I ended up using the same AP on my phone as I was already using for the WS-2000, so they were connected to the same network over the same WiFi router. Just saying.

Then, it took several attempts, AWNET showed the the correct MAC, v4.0.2, and available v4.0.9 update, frequently timing out, but eventually, the WS-2000 appeared to be updating, though it took a power cycle and reboot for it to be evidenced in the About screen on the WS-2000.

Kind regards,

Kelly

I concur that it does indeed take a power cycle to of the console to visually confirm that the V4.0.9 is loaded.
Glad to hear you got 'er done!

Done enough, I guess - at least for the night.

I noticed Dan was showing two devices on his AWNET. I'm still only showing one; however, noting that I've only am uploading data from the WS-2000 to WU, and not to AmbientWeather.net

One is my 2000 display the other is my 2902 display. Only the 2000 is sending data to ambientweather, the 2902 is connected to wifi but doing nothing else other than sitting on my bedside table.
