Title: Cannot link my station to Wunderground or wcloud because the app doesn't work
Post by: enzoweb on January 02, 2018, 05:22:08 PM
The Ambient Tool for Android doesn't work - I couldn't connect my station to wifi at all with it using the latest Android 8.1 and the Pixel 2. I managed to get it connected using my wife's Iphone, but the station doesn't appear in the device list on it.

The only way (I can see) to link the station to Wunderground or Weathercloud is to use the app. I have generated a station id and key on both web sites but there is no way for me to enter these into my station without the app.

Is there another way I haven't found?

Thanks.

Yes your not the first. There are a few forums coving this. First off take the batteries out of the outdoor unit and also the indoor console and remover power adaptor if it applies, cover solar panel with something  dark for about 10 minutes. Not sure what Ambient unit you have so try it. Put batteries back in the outdoor unit first and press the rest button on that outdoor unit if you have one. Plug the indoor console back into power adaptor as that is the only way it will connect to wifi. Run the ambient app again but remove and reinstall first. Reboot the phone. If that fails again look for another Android or IPhone from Wife/Hubby/Boy or girlfriend or friend whichever apply. I had an android 7.1.2 unit and wife's android 6.0 something worked. Re-enter info into Ambient app device that see's your weather station. Try different devices if that does not work. Ambient knows about the problem and releasing an undated app when they have it ready for release. Just search the forums. Lots of help here.

Please mention the weather station model number so others can help with specific units.

Thanks - I have a couple of old phones I'll try. The rest is a bit hard, I'll wait for the updated app.

Thanks.

I forgot one very important step. You have to at least temporarily turn off/disable the 5ghz band on your wifi router if you have that. After your weather station connects you can turn it back on.

Still waiting for your weather station brand/model number so I can help you better. Makes it difficult guessing.
