How do I attach a metal pole to a 4x4 post?
« on: August 29, 2014, 09:24:23 AM »
Hi I am thinking of moving my anemometer from my chimney to a 10' pole extending up from the 4x4 post that my ISS is currently mounted on. I am not real crazy about going on the roof every year to change batteries ect. I went to a couple of home improvement stores and couldn't find the hardware.
Any ideas?

Thanks Andy

I have had good luck with conduit clamps. You can lag bolt the clamps to the 4x4 post, then run the mast through the clamps and bolt them with the included carriage bolts. You will need a minimum of two, but more might be more secure.

Your local hardware store should have them. Find the appropriate size for your mast.
