Looking for indoor temp and hum display
« on: February 10, 2011, 04:15:45 PM »
Can anyone recommend a device that will measure and display indoor temp and humidity on a backlit screen, preferably 9" screen or larger?  I am needing this for a storage room that I am building and would like clients that walk in to see the indoor conditions.  I was even thinking about buying a wifi enabled tablet and have it pull the info from the weatherdirect sensors I have around the room.  Please help!

Specifically, how would I get temp and humidity data on it?

Bushman's being a little obtuse.

1) You need a computer and software that will talk to your weather instruments and make the graphics that you want to display on the frame.

2) You need a frame that uses WiFi, to get the data wirelessly from the graphics folder on the computer (or from a website, if you upload it so your clients can see it from home)

There may be other ways to do this as well.

Something along these lines perhaps? It uses the 915Mhz range which is better for passing through walls and floors. The display isn't 9" but still readable and meets your other requirements measuring temp/humidity. http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/8300/index.php

Yeah but I need indoor humidity, I think this only does outdoor.

I believe that the wording in the ad is to inform you that the remote sensor measures temp and humidity (whether you mount it outdoors or indoors) and sends it to the display. The display also reads the temperature of it's surroundings. This means that the remote sensor can be placed in the room you're building reading temp and humidity and send this data to the display located wherever (within range).

The WS-8300U is able to receive signals from 2 additional thermo-hygro sensors .  Right out of the manual.  You should read it.
