Another (possible) Wx Newbie!
« on: January 11, 2011, 05:46:05 AM »
A member of a local forum over here sent me a PM today inquiring about weather stations and his interest with getting involved. After I settled down from the excitement I replied with a lengthy description of all the various station types available with their associated website URL's. I mentioned a range of consumer stations including (not necessarily in order of quality to hopefully minimize bickering  :-P) Rainwise, the Davis line, Texas Weather (and 1-wire) Instruments, Oregon Scientific, LaCrosse and, Fine Offset and it's other names. I also mentioned about sensor siting and to watch for PC interface capability if he wanted a PC connection.
It may not be to far in the future where Chiang Mai may have a new Wx station marker on Google maps! That would be great.

You're right!  They'll probably erect a statue,   and maybe a museum where his weather station is.
