Topic: Another (possible) Wx Newbie!

A member of a local forum over here sent me a PM today inquiring about weather stations and his interest with getting involved. After I settled down from the excitement I replied with a lengthy description of all the various station types available with their associated website URL's. I mentioned a range of consumer stations including (not necessarily in order of quality to hopefully minimize bickering  ) Rainwise, the Davis line, Texas Weather (and 1-wire) Instruments, Oregon Scientific, LaCrosse and, Fine Offset and it's other names. I also mentioned about sensor siting and to watch for PC interface capability if he wanted a PC connection.
It may not be to far in the future where Chiang Mai may have a new Wx station marker on Google maps! That would be great.

   In 150 years when there are 100's of weather gurus in Chiang Mai and throughout Thailand, Dan's name will be famous all over the country as the man who brought a love of the weather to the people!!
