The NYS Mesonet http://www.nysmesonet.org seems to have most of their stations installed now. I had been meaning to drive by the Westmoreland site to see if I could see it from the road, but now they have posted detailed pictures for the site:
http://www.nysmesonet.org/about/sites#?stid=WEST (I like the little 10 meter fold over tower)
I requested April for comparison to Griffis AFB KRME and my PWS. A spot check compares favorably using starpath http://www.starpath.com/barometers/baro_cal.php with the station elevation of 199.6 meters and the NOAA conversion from mb to inHg at https://www.weather.gov/media/epz/wxcalc/pressureConversion.pdf PinHg = 0.0295300 × Pmb .
Although there is no tabular data, the request box, including for personal use, makes the data accessible.

Looks like a nice station, did you see the camera? Looks like a Hikvision. Temp/humidity sensors look to be mounted between 8-9'.

I wouldn't mind it. :-)
Under "measured variables" it says 2 meters for temp/humidity and 9 meters for temp only.

Normally they are 1.5 meters, could be they are compensating for snow like they do on mountain sites.
The 9 meter is just a secondary with non aspirated shield should there be a power outage. It even says the passive non aspirated will have a warm bias on calm windless days. :-) Go figure

What a surprise!
What truly is, is how much of an error at even 2m/s (~4.5mph), 3.0C (5.4F).
However, I'm sure there's still folks who still see it as "fuzzy math".
Type Sensor Used Standards Units Accuracy
Standard - Secondary Thermometrics Air Temperature, PDF degrees Celsius
± 0.5 °C when windspeed is > 6 m/s
± 1.0 °C when windspeed is 3 - 6 m/s
± 1.5 °C when windspeed is 2 - 3 m/s
±3.0°C when windspeed is 1 - 2 m/s

As the old saying goes 'You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink'...I'll recommend especially for the new inexperienced asking whats important, but leave it at that. Everyone has a choice, the right choice and wrong choice. :-)

Never heard anyone specifically wanted to visit Westmoreland before :-P
You can see my station from the road in Westmo if you happen by.
Seems many of the NY Mesonet stations are on farms. That location is about a mile
from my old home and a hop skip and jump from my new place north of the Thruway.

We should visit someday. Some folks walking by my TOA-USPLN installation said they use your website, as have others, very popular over here. I told them the only other new USPLN station in the area was at your site. (I don't maintain a website other than my WU page)

I have yet to get my USPLN kit up. Life has gotten in the way.
And yeah, we should visit at some point!
