I rebooted my Access and the daily rain total was reset to zero as reported on MyAcuRite.com and Weather Underground. With the battery backup it should still be recording the rain amounts.
Why can't the Access re-sync the daily rain total on those sites back to the daily total instead of setting it to zero on a reboot?
-
When you say you rebooted it, what exactly do you mean? Did you also temporarily remove the batteries as well? Could you please help me understand what led to this reboot, as well?
A reboot to me typically means removing all power, batteries included, to reset the unit. This is intended to clear historical information, settings, and records.

Turned the power off then on. The Access was plugged into a power strip which was turned off and then turned back on after 10 minutes. The Access always had the batteries installed.

worachj,
Maybe the batteries in the Access are installed wrong?
-
I checked the batteries, its pretty hard to put them in the wrong way by the design of the battery compartment.
I just repeated the problem. Turned off the power strip, counted to 10 and turn it back on. The rain total was reset to zero again.
Check the graph for rain on my station:

This doesn't happen to anyone else?

I had power outage this evening for over an hour, and when the lights came back on, I did not lose rain totals...

Thanks for sharing. I can't figure out why mine gets reset to zero, I must be doing something wrong. I should be able to look into things sometime within the next couple of weeks.
Its not a big deal for me, but something I would like to fix.

Mine does this also.. remove power from access and loose rain totals.. bad deal.

I found this light status chart for the Access and started looking into my problem. When I remove power to the Access, I get no status lights meaning its off. I've replaced the batteries with three different types and still have no luck. The batteries are properly inserted! I should be getting a slow blinking blue light when the power is turned off to indicate that it is running on battery power. NO LUCK!
My conclusion is that I have a bad Access.
I don't know why this chart isn't included in the manual, it should be.

The battery backup on my Access was not working. My problem has been fixed with a new warranty replacement Access.

Glad you got it figured out.
