15 years! Wow.
Here is the text from the CWOP Mother Ship:
Sep 10, 2015 - Fifteen years ago today, Sept 10, 2000, the CWOP member database was started, entries from a few interested hams were entered, and data started flowing. We (Steve Dimse and I) expected maybe a hundred people or so would join and send data to Steve's findu.com server for transfer to NOAA. So far, well over 30,000 have joined and over 12,000 stations are currently sending data, about 100,000 packets per hour. CWOP is the largest network in the MADIS surface data set, both in terms of members and observations. It has all turned out better than we thought it would. Greg H.
