I made a change of plans and Mounted the Davis separate from the Acurite. I was also going to mount the Anemometer 20ft up but the Guy wire clamps have not come in yet so it's at 17ft. As soon as guy wire clamps come in, I'll add the 10ft section of pipe in addition to the 6 footer for a 27 ft set up.
I mounted the Anemometer Yesterday and Mounted the ISS today. I also mounted the CoCoRaHS Rain Gauge at the same level as the Rain Bucket ( let the Calibration begin :lol: ).
The VP2 Console is really growing on me in a Big Way! It reminds me when I was a young man and I'm comfortable with it, I'm preferring the VP over the Acurite HD Display. Don't get me wrong, I'm keeping the Acurite Station as I like that one too.
So far I'm really impressed with the Davis. If you're looking at a Davis, buy from Ryan from Scaled Instruments, good prices and a good man to deal with.

Those "Red Tags" are LOWES Stickers that gave product description "Galvanized 1-1/4in Pipe, Threaded" just forgot to remove them :lol:

When I extend the pole to 27ft, going to Paint the pole Tower Red&White ( Used to be a Radio/TV Broadcast Engineer for 20 years, "Not The Same Colors" :lol: ). When the Warantee runs out on the 5-in-1, maybe I'll paint that yellow, guess what that will look like :lol:

Just make sure the top red light flashes, not steady. :-P

I had read that the bird spikes should be left off on the side where the UV sensors are and that the anemometer pole would also be casting a shadow over the sensors as well? UV Sensors typically state that the sensors should have an unobstructed 360 degree view of the sky. Has this changed?

Hes done it correctly, brought them in front of the bucket when the spikes are used, it looks like hes also aligned them up with south too
But, mid summer there may be some shadowing from the pole, but, that will be of no importance because he will get shadowing from
his surroundings anyway long before the pole because of the height :)
In my opinion it looks as right as it can be for your setup unless im missing something?

Pretty much right but the trees are further than they look as I used a 300mm lens for the images. I get a little bit of shadow in the am, about 20min worth. No shadow from the pole at all.

Beautiful setup! I love it!
NHWF5510, The solar and UV sensors are best installed on the south side of the mast and as unobstructed by nearby shadowing objects as possible.

Yep, that's what I used. I also used teflon tape for easy disassembly.

How do the readings compare? Temp/humid/wind/rain?
I have a WH2310 Fine offset, and I find that it is pretty good, but needs some slight calibration just like the acurite mainly on the rain gauge. You calibrate the WH2310 on the console, so it is easier than the acurite for sure. The humidity is more accurate on the 2310, but the temp seems to be better on the acurite, due to the solar shield being way too small on the 2310. The barometer is very good on the smart hub, and the 2310, but the consoles for acurite are not so much. Wind sensor on the 2310 is WAY better than my 5in1.

The Wind speed between the two are about spot on when I can get the readings at the exact same time, wind direction goes to the Davis as the Acurite is too squirrely. Barrow is with in .01 once I figured out how the set the Acurite up as in reset the Display when the Actual BP is at 29.92". DP is +/- 1* of each other. Temps are :lol:, at night the Acurite is 1* lower than the Davis, during the Day in full Sun, the Acurite is 2-4* higher, cloudy days are spot on to each other. In a Rain Event, the acurite over reports the rain ( still working on that). The smartHub is right on with the Davis on Barometric Pressure right out the gate. As for build quality, it's the Davis hands down fer sure. The console, HD Display is pretty, the Davis, Just the Facts and that's all you need plus the 2.5 sec. update on the wind. Bar graft is pretty neat once you figure it out.
+1 on the Acurite Sensor 5-in-1 if you paint it yellow, guess what it looks like?
