A Winter Frosting In Cleveland
« on: December 17, 2010, 05:01:38 PM »
This is a picture from the TOLEDO BLADE Newspaper (Associated Press).  It is of the lighthouse at the entrance to Cleveland Harbor.  The lighthouse is coated in a thick coat of ice.  Brrrrrrrrrrrr

I would say it not in use for navigation.....  Anoher picture I saw showed an minor aid that may have taken it place.  Ice like that on an vessel becomes an serious threat for capsizing.

Cool pic
Yummy, Lake Erie water looks tasty when frozen.    :-&

Nice pic Mark.
Gee, why did I leave there again.
I do remember the waves getting quite large on Erie. On the Shoreway going east out of town   when those November storms would kick up the huge waves would throw fish on the highway. :-)

Kind of reminds me of the Taj Mahol in India. :-)

I'll bet there was a lot of creaking and popping sounds from the structure grunting under the load of ice inside.

This is a picture of the same lighthouse without the ice.
