Title: Tower Sensor(06002m/592TXR) Humidity sensor replacment??
Post by: daman on November 15, 2017, 06:20:22 PM
My TS is stuck on 98% I'm in the process if getting a new one through my warranty but would like to fix this one, can the sensor be un soldered and be replaced on this model?

Tower sensors usually are made up of discrete components rather than a chip sensor like is in the 5n1.  I'm sure it's probably fixable.

I don't know if it would be cost and time effective, though, as a new tower sensor is about $13.

Could there be moisture inside the sensor affecting the reading? I would open it up and see what's up. I found insects in mine one time.

It's inside my home monitoring temps in a room so moisture isn't a problem.

I was hoping the sensor could be replaced then I would have two but if not that's ok.
