Topic: Recommended settings for Meteobridge, WU, 1400-IP with ObsIP, and Meteotemplate?

I should be setting up my 1400-IP tomorrow with a DIR 505 with meteobridge and I read way too much.

1. In the ObserverIP settings, I leave Weather stations blank and let meteobridge handle correct?
2. In the ObserverIP Calibration settings, should I calibrate in this device or meteobridge?
3. What are the recommended settings for timing/rapid fire, etc for WU and meteobridge?
4. I will be using Meteotemplate =), should I just low interval pump WU and trigger Meteotemplate's update via meteobridge?


Please correct me if I am wrong, but here is my order of operations to get this online:

1. Flash DIR 505 (after determining model and downloading the correct Meteobridge .bin from http://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Preparing_Hardware )

2. Use usb stick to transfer wifi network config.tgz settings ( generated from http://config.meteobridge.com/ ) and instructions here ( http://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Getting_Started )

3. Configure meteobrige with remainder by wifi connection

4. Flash ObserverIP with latest firmware (http://www.ambientweather.com/wswsfiup.html) if needed

5. Configure ObserverIP with recommended settings from above =)

6. Connect ObserverIP with ethernet cable to meteobridge

7. Start to see data in the live feeds on either device?

8. Wipe my initial attempt of installing Meteotemplate 6.0 and Try again with Meteotemplate 7.0! =)

(Yes that is what I do in my setup, let Meteobridge handle all the weather networks)

(I calibrate from the ObserverIP)

3. What are the recommended settings for timing/rapid fire, etc for WU and meteobridge?
(I use every 5 seconds for WUnderground)

4. I will be using Meteotemplate =), should I just low interval pump WU and trigger Meteotemplate's update via meteobridge?
(I http to Meteotemplate every 1 minute and update Live gauges every 30 seconds)

Curious if you are using the ethernet port on the Meteobridge to connect you ObserverIP?  I could not get any live data with this connection on the latest firmware (Meteobridge 2.9 (Jun 18 2016, build 9941), FW 1.3); I would see the device in found ObserverIP's and even see it in the live data page (historical data would show the time, etc).  I had to connect the ObserverIP to another ethernet port on a switch and I started getting live data.

Yes, I'm using the wired connection method.  ObserverIP to switch.  Meteobridge to switch.
I set a fixed IP on the OberserverIP and fixed IP on Meteobridge.   

I just read there are some problems when trying to go the wireless method, I've haven't tried that way since I didn't have a range issue as your facing.   

But if you now getting live data that sounds good!
