CWOP posting issue

Hi Ken,
I have an issue with uploading our data to cwop that I was wondering if you could help with?

our string is;
DW9787>APRS,TCPXX*:@212002z5088.76N/00119.53W_122/  6g  9t -2r...p...P...h91b...CitectSCADA

our programmer wrote a script that he is confident is functioning properly, are there issues with the data we are trying to send? I've reviewed the faq and all I can see wrong are the spaces.
we are not using Ham, we are collecting the data from our SCADA system.

is there a better area i should post this question?

thanks for your time,
Ian

saratogaWX:
Hi Ian,

I don't have any experience with scripting to produce a CWOP data submission .. sorry.

The format for the text string should likely not include blanks, but be zero-filled for all numeric variables.

Compare my posting via Weather-Display to yours:

CW1792>APRS,TCPXX*,qAX,CWOP-2:@261942z3716.48N/12201.38W_164/003g008t056r000p004P000b10190h56L392.WD 31
DW9787>APRS,TCPXX*:@212002z5088.76N/00119.53W_122/  6g  9t -2r...p...P...h91b...CitectSCADA

I suggest the developer use ftp://ftp.tapr.org/aprssig/aprsspec/spec/aprs101/APRS101.pdf as the guide for formatting the APRS weather report string.

Best regards,
Ken

The link above should be "ftp.tapr.org/aprssig/aprsspec/spec/aprs101/APRS101.pdf". The forum software seems to want to put a http:// in front of the link.

saratogaWX:
Pesky, BBcode stuff... yes, I changed it to NOT be a hotlink.  SMF seems to preface with http:// everything that looks like an URL.  Thanks Don...

Best regards,
Ken

frank_blac:
thanks for the quick response folks,
we will try that script.

cheers,
Ian
