Amateur Siesmic Monitors

Heck we are all have weather stations, how about seismic monitors and earthquake detectors? There are lots of plans on the intarweb for pendulum type monitors. Seems to be some free shareware type software out there too. Might warrant further investigation.

Well, you do live closer to Haiti than most of us - are you worried?  But then, Yellowstone has been getting active over the past few days too...  :???:

Seriously though, that could be a good addition to our weather station equipment. When I lived in the SF Bay area, I always wanted to install my own home-built equipment but never did do anything about it. Will be interested to see what, if any, responses you get to your posting.

Anyone that jumped on the sensor wagon.... Did they ever develop any way to use your own data on a website?

Andrew,

The last I heard, they were working on it. But, you know how fast things like that go.  ](*,)

Bob,
That's too bad.   Pretty sure "soon" was used, and that was last May...  I guess their mandate is a "network" not individual's....

Yeah, but you have to remember, we are dealing with a school/university. Their "soon" timeframe doesn't follow "normal" standards. Educational institutions are a very different animal.

If Yellowstone erupts, earthquakes will be the least of our worries.
