Hurricane Nicole has been hovering around in the Atlantic for quite some time. It has now quickly strengthened to a category 4 storm, with winds of 130 mph. Unfortunately the current cone has the hurricane heading straight for Bermuda. :-(
Prayers for Bermuda in hoping that the storm weakens before arriving!

Hard to believe that tiny little island would take a hit. :-(

I heard on one of the national news stations at work that this is the only the 7th time since 1881 that a hurricane has gotten its eye within 20 miles of the island.
That's an average of one hurricane every 18 years or so.

Interesting graphs I captured after Nicole had passed over the international airport. I love the wind direction graph. I should offer a nod to the much maligned Weather Underground Wundermap. That's where these graphs came from.

Just wait for Hurricane Donald, A lot of wind

Wow, those are some very interesting graphs. The wind direction graph is the most interesting in my opinion! Very neat! Thank you for sharing. 8-)

The hurricanes are getting worse these days. Many people have suffered because of hurricane Mathew. And now its the hurricane Nicole that the people living in West Iceland and the central highlands have to be worried about. Yesterday, the warning was issued to West Iceland and the central highlands among the hurricane Nicole. Much stronger burst of wind can be expected near the mountains. The authorities have already informed the public to be careful when driving vehicles. People are advised to stay away from the dangerous areas.

Nicole has got to be the most persistent storm ever. (http://icelandmag.visir.is/article/weather-warning-west-iceland-and-central-highlands-nicole-arriving)

I don't recall a hurricane making it up to Iceland. I believe Ivan in 2004 made it up to Newfoundland though, so that's pretty far. Didn't it end up looping around and striking the US twice (second time much weaker)?

It sure did. As it passed up through the states (1st time) it spawned more than 120 tornadoes with one of them an F3. I was living in Remington Va. at the time and guess where that F3 hit?

Oh my goodness, that is awful. :-( Was the area of town near you hit?

Our house and the 2 neighbor's to our left where directly in the path of that tornado. We all lost our roofs and some walls on the 2nd story. One house was completely lifted and moved slightly on it's foundation. Just before it hit our neighborhood it lifted someone's pick-up truck and hurled it out in a field. There's mention of it here. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Ivan_tornado_outbreak) Scroll down to "September 17 Event" and lower to the "Remington" part. It's something to look up and see the ceiling zip away in a split second. I did get a free golf club (or most of one) out of the deal though. It came through the upstairs guest room from somewhere in the area. ;)

Wow, I am sorry you had to go through something like that. I'm sure that was very difficult. Tornadoes are especially rare in West Virginia, but they do happen. I had an EF-0 tornado come within a mile of my house in 2008, but with it at that speed, the 2012 derecho was stronger.
Tornadoes still aren't too common on the eastern side of the Shenandoah Valley are they?
