Note the nearly vertical shaft cloud formation towards the left center.  What is that?

Note the change in the cloud shaft formation and the sun trying to burn a hole through the clouds at the tree line.

heh heh, and W.C. Fields a little too.  That vertical cloud shaft looks so cool. My guess is it's a scud? From your great shot it appears the puffy white bottom of it is on this side of the darker background clouds and it's just floating there.
